Do animals go to Heaven?
God did not take your cat, anymore than He "takes" people during
disasters, etc.
The Bible tells us why people have so many different kinds of things
happen to them. Ec 9:11,
"I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift
or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to
the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to
them all." (NIV)
Thus random chance can happen to anyone, or any animal, etc.
Does God let animals get into Heaven?
Humans were made in God's image. (Ge 1:26) That makes them special in
God's sight. For example, when comparing birds with people Jesus said
"you are worth more than many sparrows." (Mt 10:31)
The Bible does not tell us that any other living creations of God, such
as plants, animals, and insects were given the prospects of living
forever; only humans. (Ge 2:17) The Bible holds out no hope of a
resurrection for animals. But does so for good and wicked humans. (Ac 24:15)
Animals were not given the "sense" of living forever, but men were. For
men "He has also set eternity in the hearts of men" (Ec 3:11, NIV)
Jesus gave his life as a ransom, but only for humankind. (He 9:24)
But mankind and animals were made for the earth. Adam and his offspring
had the opportunity to live forever on the EARTH, not die and go to
Heaven.(Ge 2:16,17) Humans going to heaven were a result of Adam's sin,
and the Bible limits that number to 144,000. (Re 7:4; 14;1) Notice why
God made the earth. Ps 115:16,
"The highest heavens belong to the LORD, but the earth he has given to
man." (NIV)
Yes, man and the subjected animals, were made for the earth. And someday
soon God's original purpose to have the earth filled with righteous
perfect humans living on a paradise earth, will be fulfilled. (Ge 1:28)
Jesus referred to that situation at Mt 5:5,
"Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth." (NIV)
And God's word is always fulfilled. (Isa 55:11)
